(Ac 11:26) And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
In the first century, believers that stood firm on the fundamental doctrines of Jesus Christ were called Christians. In the 21st century, the term is not specific enough to distinguish those who continue to stand firm on those fundamental doctrines. That is why we are Baptists. We are Baptists because we are born again believers in Jesus Christ that stand firm on the fundamental doctrines of Jesus Christ. We are a Baptist church because we believe Baptist churches are the most Biblical churches in existence today. We are fully persuaded by the Scriptures and prepared to give an account before God and men for standing firm and identifying with the Baptists because the Baptists stand firm and identify with Biblical Christianity in its purist form.
