(Re 12:9) “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

We believe Satan is the fallen angel, Lucifer, also known as the Devil and the Prince of the Power of the Air. He has been given dominion and influence in this world by God until the final execution of his judgment.

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” ( Isa 14:12)

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:” (Eph 2:2)

Satan, along with demons under his authority, are intent on working though man’s natural lust and pride to bring about spiritual, emotional, and physical destruction, especially separation from the love of God.

“But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” (Mt 16:23)

Satan is the greatest enemy of believers, yet God has given us spiritual weapons to achieve victory over his attacks; among these weapons are: assurance of salvation, imputed righteousness, the truth of God’s Word, and faith

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Eph 6:11-18)

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1Jo 4:4)

During the 1,000 year reign of Christ, Satan will be locked away, and then released for a final revolt against Jesus Christ. After this revolt is put down, Satan and his angels will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever.

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Re 20:10)
