THE FALL OF MAN
(Ro 5:12) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
We believe that Adam’s sin of disobedience in the Garden of Eden brought the curse of sin upon mankind and upon the whole world, introducing physical and spiritual corruption and death.
“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” (Ro 5:18-19)
A sin nature entered into Adam and Eve that condemned body and soul to death, separating them from a right relationship with God.
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (Joh 3:19)
This sin nature has been passed from father to child since Adam and condemns all mankind.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Ro 5:12)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Ro 3:23)
If a man dies in this condition, his soul is condemned to eternity in the Lake of Fire which is the 2nd death
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Ro 6:23)
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Re 21:8)
Man can do nothing in his own power to save himself
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Tit 3:5)
