THE WORD OF GOD

(2Ti 3:16) “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

We believe the Bible is the complete, inspired, inerrant, infallible, and preserved revelation of God to man and is final authority for all faith, conduct, practice, and judgment.

The Bible: The historically and universally accepted 66 canonized books of the Old and New Testaments from Genesis to Revelation also identified as the “Scriptures” and the “Word of God.”

The Bible is complete: The Bible does not contain everything God knows, but does contain everything man needs to know in order to have a right relationship with God.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa 55:9)

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (Joh 5:39)

The Bible is inspired: God took full and sole responsibility for accurately imparting His Word to man.

God breathed His words into the minds of certain holy men.

God communicated His words accurately and men recorded them accurately (confluent inspiration).

Every word is inspired (verbal inspiration).

Every word is equally inspired (plenary inspiration).

The Bible does not simply “contain” or “convey” the word of God, the Bible “is” the Word of God

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2Ti 3:16)

The Bible is inerrant and infallible: It contains no errors or mistakes in its inspiration, preservation, or teachings.

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” (Pr 30:5)

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (Ps 12:6)

“Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.” (Ps 119:160)

“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Tit 1:2)

“That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:” (Heb 6:18)

The Bible is preserved: God takes full and sole responsibility for maintaining the accuracy and availability of His Word

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Mt 24:35)

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” (Ps 12:6-7)

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” (1Pe 1:25)

“ For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Ps 119:89)

The Bible is God’s revelation to man: God took the initiative to communicate knowledge that man could not discover through human intellect or experience.

“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2Pe 1:21)

“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” (1Co 1:21)

The Bible is final authority: The Bible supersedes and overrules all and every other authority.

All beliefs and behavior are to be founded in Biblical truth.

Personal thoughts and motives are to be filtered through Biblical truth.

All relationships to others are to be shaped by Biblical truth.

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2Pe 1:19)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2Ti 3:16)

“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Ro 14:23)

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12)

“And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.” (Mt 18:17)

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” (Mt 5:44)

“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”(Mt 22:39)

The Bible is not open to private interpretation. The only way to accurately interpret the Bible is to interpret it literally, contextually, historically, and grammatically

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (2Pe 1:20)

The Authorized King James Bible is “The Word of God” for English speaking people.
